Hello,
I thought I would post some photos of this great murphy bed made for my studio by a friend. Since my studio consumed two bedrooms of my home, I wanted somewhere for guests to sleep and this was my solution. It folds up completely into the wall, taking up about a foot of space. The front panel folds down on piano hinges and becomes my cutting table at a height of 36 inches and it is 36 inches wide by 60 inches long. Works perfectly for both my cutting mat as well as an ironing surface. The third photo is of the bed down and ready for sleeping. Notice the art quilt that is hiding inside and comes to light when the bed is down. No more day beds to be piled high, just a cutting table that gets piled high.

That is awesome! What a super idea! My parents are moving into a smaller house soon, i will have to share these pictures - it will be perfect for her scrapbooking room!
And your quilts are beautiful - dont be discouraged. As you should already know, most quilt artists can wallpaper thier studios with rejections - it makes the "getting in" that much sweeter!
Very nice work, and congrats on getting into Images! One of my pieces was also accepted for Images, and also one for Sacred Threads. Keep submitting, I do when I can, and eventually, you are accepted. Really like your work from Afghanistan. Saw your post in quiltart which led me here.

Wow, it's a wonderful solution to the studio/guest room dilemma. I may be back to see if I can get a referral to the builder (I'm in the southern Willamette valley).

Just wanted to say your quilts are stunning, they really inspire, & tell a million stories! The hummingbird one, especially, grabs me, makes me long to see one up close again...& the ones you made after your trip are amazing, very evocative & powerful...
...please don't ever let momentary discouragement rob you of the joy of expressing your gift of prolific creativity, you have much to share with the world that no-one else can...because it's your own, unique, powerful perspective & vision!
When you've been given a gift, it's your responsibility to share it in every way possible...I hope you always will! Your work is very powerful!

P.S. If your hummingbird quilt is for sale, & you're open to payments, please contact me with the price~ I'm just a single mom on dissability, so it may be way out of my range, but I can hope & dream, right? stazia@telus.net
